REVIEW:
I am going to give you a second before I start this review to catch your breath.. you did see the cover above right? If you are hyperventilating from the hotness, locate your closest paper bag and breathe in and out.. slowly.

If you aren't already reading Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury hockey series, stop what you are doing and catch yourself up (Book #1- Alex is ONLY .99 and Book #2- Garret is $2.99). Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone, but reading them in order, just makes the next book even more awesome!

The tragic accident that took the life of Zack's girlfriend and the mother of this son toward the end of Garrett left me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to hug Zack and to know how he was going to move on after such a tragic loss. Sawyer Bennett takes an incredibly sad story and turns it into a story of living and loving after loss. She does a wonderful job of emotionally investing you into Zack and Kate's relationship. The development of their friendship based on the mutual goal of raising Zack's son perfectly builds the plot.

Kate is just adorable! Under her dorky glasses and baggy clothes she has a heart of gold and heart has decided to help thaw the ice from around Zack's heart. This scene was one of my favorites from the book, she is trying to get Zack to lighten up a little...

"While Kate's main duties are to take care of Ben and her secondary duties are to help me take care of the house, she's also apparently put it on her chore list to try to make me laugh. She is a complete and utter dork sometimes, always dancing around and making up stupid songs to sing to Ben. She makes up different nicknames for me and Ben each day, refusing to call us by our real names unless we acknowledge her use of the nickname at least once. Ben always gives in because he thinks they're hilarious. Just yesterday he was Mr. Tadpole Climbing a Beanpole and I was Miss Sparkly Skates.

Yesterday, she asked, "Hey Miss Sparkly Skates," which caused Ben to double over in laughter, "I'm doing a grocery store run today; anything special you want?"

I refused to answer her, instead continuing to surf on my laptop while I sat at the kitchen table.

"Hey.. Miss Sparkly Skates... I'm talking to you," she called out in a singsong voice.

I took a sip of coffee and ignored Ben's conspiratorial giggle.

"Hey... Miss Sparkly Skates... what's wrong? Did you lose some rhinestones or something?"

I looked up at her and she just stared at me from behind those think eyeglass frames, her head tilted to the side in anticipation.

"More bottled water," I muttered, and bent my head back down, trying hard not to smile and thus encourage her. I didn't miss the high fives she and Ben exchanged over my defeat. "

While there are lots of cute interactions in this book, once things start heating up between Zack and Kate, the rating in this book goes from G to R... fast!

Her eyes are closed, so I wait for her to open them. When she does her look is glazed as she tries to focus on me.

"Do you want me to stop Kate?" I ask her urgently, squeezing her breast gently. then rubbing my thumb over her nipple that's puckered. hard against her bra.

She moans again and pushes her hips against me in a move that's wanton and demanding.. Christ.. my dick is aching so bad and her grinding against me is torture. I need this to end one way or the other.

"Kate," I say harshly so I can get her attention. Her eyes focus a little on me. "Do you want me to stop?"

Her brow furrows inward for a second, then she blows out a soft breath form her lips. "I'll die if you do," she says quietly and I know I'm an absolute goner.

This book sucked me in and I read the entire thing cover to cover in one sitting. I am in love with this entire series to date, but  Zack is by far my favorite of the three. I laughed, cried, and fanned myself from the heat!  Zack gets 5 STARS from Save Your Money for Books and as soon as I turned the last page, I immediately went to Amazon to pre-order Ryker the next book in this series. Review: First Last Kiss by Lia Riley

This cover is just as sweet as this story!
Pinterest Perfect. Or so Annie Carson's life appears on her popular parenting blog. Reality is.. messier. Especially when it lands her back in one-cow town, Brightwater, California, and back int he path of the gorgeous six-foot-four reason she left. Sawyer Kane may fill out those Wranglers, but she won't be distracted from her task. Annie just needs the summer to spruce up and sell her family's farm so she and her young son can start a new life in then big city. Simple, easy, perfect.

Sawyer has always regretted letting the first girl he loved slip away. He won't make the same mistake twice, but can he convince beautiful, wary, Annie to trust her heart again when she's been given every reason not to? And as a single kiss turns to so much more, can Annie give up her idea of perfect for a forever that's blissfully real.

Review:
I fell in love with Sawyer & Annie in author Lia Riley's debut novel, Last First Kiss.

Annie & Sawyer were friends when they were younger, and thanks to some meddling friends, they were forced apart leaving Annie with a broken heart. She never really fit in as a youth in Brightwater being the daughter of the town's eccentric resident Kooky Carson. Now she finds herself a single mom,  back in a place she never fit in, again standing out, but this time she has an agenda. She will fix up the homestead, sell and move herself and her son to a place where they can start over.. if she can survive the house falling down around her, Sawyer's crazy Grandmother, who is still carrying the torch of a the Kane/Carson family feud and fighting the undeniable attraction for Sawyer.

Sawyer knows that he messed up once, but he isn't going to repeat the past. He will convince Annie that she belongs with him and in Brightwater, come hell, high water, or his Grandma with a chicken pie that she just made from one of Annie's egg hens. He is pulling out all the stops in hopes that one of them will keep Annie and her son in Brightwater and in his life forever.

I am a big fan of the traditional contemporary romance and Last First Kiss is the epitome of a story that stays true to the genre.  Fan's of Candis Terry's, Sweet Texas series and Emma Cane's, Valentine Valley,  will quickly fall in love with the town of Brightwater. Last First Kiss is a whirlwind second chance romance full of humor, friendship and most of all love. I gave this book 5 Stars and can't wait for more from this series and author!

REVIEW: All of Me by Jennifer Bernard

Jennifer Bernard, the USA Today bestselling author of the Bachelor Firemen series, scores another home run with a brand-new series about sexy, single baseball players.

Playing for the Kilby Catfish is hotshot pitcher Caleb Hart's last chance to salvage his career after a major league meltdown. But the day of his opener with the minor league team, Caleb strikes out with the gorgeous woman who is delivering the petition to run the unruly Catfish out of town. Now, to stay in the lineup, Caleb will need to score big with the feisty brunette he can't keep out of his thoughts.

After the nasty lies Sadie Merritt's rich ex-boyfriend spread about her all over town, she's lucky to have a job at all. She can't afford to screw it up by falling for the player that is supposed to be there helping her change the image of the fun-loving Catfish. But that's easier said than done when Caleb's voice alone is enough to make her pulse race. And when he surprises her with a mind-blowing kiss, she knows there's no turning back.

REVIEW:
Fan's of Jennifer Bernard's Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series are going to be over the moon to discover her newest series, Love Between the Bases. All of Me, the first book in this series,  takes the trademark Jennifer Bernard, humor, romance and heat to a whole new, pardon the pun.. playing field.

If you thought the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel got into some trouble, you haven't seen anything yet. These boys are so wild the more conservative residents of the town want them gone..  enter the Can the Catfish petition that Sadie Merritt, now finds herself  assigned to resolve. She can't afford to lose her job with the Mayor, it is the only one she was able to secure after the fallout with her nasty ex- the "Golden Boy" of Kilby.

Caleb is in a slump, his pitching is so bad it is painful to watch, he has to get over this issue, so when the team owner assigns him to a PR campaign to help improve the Catfish's image in the community he is less than thrilled. Caleb and Sadie both enter their tasks a little reluctantly, but as their friendship/relationship develops, All of Me quickly becomes the perfect contemporary romance. The more time Caleb spends with Sadie the better his game gets, Now, if they can get the team to play nice, then maybe this situation will work out for the best for Caleb, Sadie, Kilby and the Catfish.

Caleb is a hero that grows on you and Sadie is a heroine that you want to hug and then throw water balloons at the rest of the people in town that treat this sweet girl unfairly.  I found myself throughly entertained with lighthearted banter and just enough drama to keep me turning the pages. From the Can the Catfish petition to the Save the Slugs campaign, I fell in love quickly with the quirky members of the team and community and I can't wait for more from this series.

I gave All of Me - 5 STARS and  agree that  it's another home run for Jennifer Bernard!\
